POPE GOLF TO MANAGE MISTY CREEK COUNTRY CLUB

Pope Golf Expands in Sarasota
Officials from Pope Golf and the Board of Directors at Misty Creek Country Club have reached agreement on a five year Management Contract which will make Pope Golf the new manager of the Club. The Club was previously managed by Billy Casper Golf. With the acquisition of this contract, the Pope Golf portfolio is now seven courses, with six of those located in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Annual revenues for the company have surpassed $12 million, and there are now 232 employees.
“We are excited about the opportunities at Misty Creek.”, says Keith Pope, President of the company that bears his name. “We have been working hard to grow the company, and the results of that hard work are starting to pay off.”
Within the last six months, Pope Golf has secured a lease of the Manatee County Golf Courses (Manatee Golf and Buffalo Creek), and added management contracts at Myakka Pines Golf Club, and now Misty Creek Country Club. The company is currently in negotiations with several other municipalities and private clubs, and is looking to continue its recent growth both locally and regionally.
“We have developed a unique approach to the operations of our Private Clubs, as well as our daily fee golf courses.” Pope continues. “We have been very successful developing and implementing membership programs at our Private Clubs, and as we continue to add more Private Clubs, we feel we can create synergies that will allow these Clubs to grow their membership and return to a more exclusive status.”
